  • ITEM 401 The AC Binder Grade is not specified. Is it understood that the common grade of PG 64-22 is required?
    The table under 401-1.1, page 21, shows PG 64-22. (09/18/2023)

  • Page 21 – ITEM 401 Air Voids are specified as 15 %. Should this be 4.0% as normally specified by Article 1030.05 of the Standard Specifications?

  • The table indicates that the Max allowable RAP is “0%”. The IDOT Standard Specifications refers to Asphalt Binder Replacement (ABR) and allows up to 15% ABR for an N50 Surface mixture using RAP and up to 40% ABR for a N50 Surface mixture when using FRAP. Will RAP and / or FRAP be allowed per the Current IDOT Standard Specifications? RAP and / or FRAP is normal for IDOT mixtures. Mixes with “0% RAP” are not typical and most contractors will need to design specifically to meet this spec
