  • As a follow up to my previous question, the SP for Cleaning and Painting Existing Steel Structures under Description states "by the methods specified on the plans" as it always has. The plans are supposed to specify prep and painting methods and these do not. The SPs only give options. Please provide prep method and paint system.
    The prep method and paint system should be near white blast cleaning SP10 and paint system 1, OZ/E/U. (04/04/2024)

  • On plan sheet 24 below the Scope of Work, it mentions the blasting and painting of all structural steel, but does not mention the type of blast or the paint system to use. I am assuming the intent is for the standard SP10 blast with Paint System 1. Please clarify.
    The special provisions, Structure Description, Cleaning and Painting Contact Surface Areas of Existing Steel Structures, and Cleaning and Painting Existing Steel Structures, details the type of blast and the paint system that is to be used. (04/03/2024)
