Bulletin Description

Removal and replacement of strutures carrying Milstream Road over the Kishwaukee River and the South Branch of the Kishwaukee River. The proposed structures are three span, 27" PPC IL Beams with an 8" concrete deck on solid wall piers and integral abutments. Also included will be HMA resurfacing, HMA shoulders, guardrail, driveways, pavment markings, landscaping and other necessary work.

  • I did not see the check sheet checked and the special provision for Bituminous Materials Cost Adjustment , as this project will go into 2025 it should have this option

  • Can the full set of as-built plans for the existing structures be made available prior to bid?
    The full set of record plans is in the Available Report link in the specs - https://www.mchenrycountyil.gov/departments/transportation/projects/millstream. These links have Sheets 1-7 of 9 for both bridges. (11/08/2023)

  • Plan sheets 180 and 181 illustrate a specific attenuator unit, but the plans and special provisions do not appear to identify a specific unit to be utilized on this project. Please confirm that we are free to use any Fully Redirective, Narrow, TL-3 MASH unit, on IDOT’s Qualified Product List, for use on this project.
    A specific brand is not required and this is not a proprietary item. The attenuator unit utilized must be on IDOT’s Qualified Product list and must meet the design specifications and details. (11/07/2023)

  • Turbidity Curtain bid qty is 711 SY. However, plan sheets 39 and 40 show a total of 925 SY. Please update the bid quantity.

  • Contract Plans Sheet 68 (Note 6) and Contract Plans Sheet (Note 7) state that the existing structural concrete coating contains asbestos. The geotechnical reports indicate that no asbestos was found in any of the cores taken. Please clarify the location and extent of the asbestos (if any).

  • Under the mix table you have PG 58-28 as the plan PG Grade. Please verify that you in fact want the most expensive shoulders/temporary access/ and pavement connector in the Chicagoland area since I'm capped at 20% ABR.

  • Your previous answer is cores. I'll bid with that. BUT YOU NEED TO CHECK A BOX ON PAGE 62. Leaving it blank tells me and others absolutely nothing.
    We checked page 62 in the special provisions on the IDOT Transportation Bulletin and in both Chrome and Edge and cores box IS checked. The page was printed out from Chrome and the cores box is still checked. (10/30/2023)
