  • The special provisions for the Pedestrian Truss Superstructure include stainless steel welded wire fabric for the railing system. However, the cross section on plan sheet 91 shows horizontal railngs and no mesh detailed. Please confirm whether the bridge is required to have horizontal railings or stainless steel mesh or both.
    Per the special provision, both horizontal railing and WWF fence are required. (10/28/2024)

  • Plan sheets 99 - 101 along with the cross sections show the footing for the CIP retaining walls up against the existing R.O.W. with no construction easement. Will a construction easement be provided to allow for the excavation required to build the walls? As it is shown, the walls are not buildable while staying within the existing R.O.W.
    An addendum will be issued. (10/24/2024)

  • Line item 52200700 PRECAST MODULAR RETAINING WALL is listed on this project, although the special provision has references to segmental wall block, which is typically line item 52200800 SEGMENTAL CONCRETE BLOCK WALL. The cost difference for a larger modular concrete wall block is significantly more than a smaller segmental concrete wall block, which would make the bids for this line item disparate. Please clarify which wall block type is intended for this project.
    Per the special provision, both Precast Modular Wall and Segmental Block Systems meeting the requirements of the special provision will be acceptable. (10/24/2024)

  • The pedestrian bridge is located in close proximity to an active railroad. The crane that will erect the bridge will likely be close enough to foul the railroad track. It appears that other contract improvements may also be within railroad R.O.W. Please clarify if Railroad Protective Liability Insurance, Right of Entry Agreement and Flagman will be required.
    No improvements are proposed on Railroad R.O.W. If Railroad Protective Liability Insurance or railroad flaggers are required during construction, they will be paid for according to article 109.04. (10/23/2024)
