  • The post spacing for the strong post on the box culvert are at an non-standard spacing. Is it the designers intention for us to use blank guardrail panels and field drill them to match?
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (07/27/2023)

  • The detail on plan sheet 12 calls for thu bolting the stong post guardrail. Deck thickness appears to be 19 3/4". Will it be acceptable to drill and epoxy set the anchor bolts, with a minimum of 9" embedment, as detailed on base sheet R-31 (Steel Railing Type 2399) or R-42 (Steel Railing Type CO-10)? Both Steel Railing post spacings are a minimum of 6'3", Strong post is 3'-1-1/2". If you concur please issue and addendum, modifying the detail.
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (07/24/2023)
