  • For the EB traffic, the drawings direct you to use the signing from traffic control standard 701602. Are the arrow boards from standard 701602 also required? Nothing is indicated on the plans.
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. Any signage that is shown on the appropriate standards should be used for staging. (07/27/2023)

  • There is a pay item for "base for telescoping steel sign support". The drawings show the telescoping signs to be in grass areas. Where will these bases be used at?

  • Does IDOT have a completed IEPA LPC 662 or 663 Form for the listed Regualted Substances?

  • On page 4 of the special provisions under TC&P it states that changeable message signs are part of this pay item. There is a pay item for changeable message signs and there are none shown on the drawings or in the special provisions that are indicated to be incidental. Please confirm how changeable message signs will be paid for.
    The pay item in the SOQ for changeable message signs is for the use of the signs for prior notification of a lane or roadway closure. The signs detailed in the TC&P Special that are included in the pay item are for the signs that shown as being included in the Highway Standards that are shown to be used in the staging plans. The location of the signs will be determined by the Engineer. (07/24/2023)

  • The lane rental days in the plans and special provisions do not match for some stages. I understand the specials override the plans but wanted to check to make sure those were the number of days the Department intended to allow?

  • Please confirm the quantity of the Bridge Fence Rail. Summary of quantities calls for 512 LF but sheets 117 and 128 show 207'-11 3/4" per side for a total of 416 LF. Also, does the parapet rail extend onto the abutments? If not, that quantity should be 208 LF.

  • Take Two: Plan sheets 125 and 127 call out ‘when galvanized’ and ‘when painted’ railings. Confirm which coating we are to bid on, galvanized or painted.

  • Special provision page 13 states gates are measured as lineal foot of Fence Special. Confirm 1) if there are gates needed (IF yes, they should have their own pay item) 2) gate locations 3) width of each gate if any and 4) quantity of gates.
    The number of gates and locations should match what the existing chain link fence has. Currently, there aren't any existing gates (07/17/2023)

  • Provide a detail for pay item x2200003 fence special.
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. Specifically, the contractor should pay close attention to the Fence, Special provision for details for that specific pay item. (07/17/2023)
