  • i am confused with the two pay items of erosion control blanket if you use the temp blanket will it not have to be removed to final grade seed and put the final blanket down after the job is finished
    There is rough grading, temp seeding, temporary blanket, final grading, final seeding, and final blanket placement. The expectation is there will be a time lapse between what is done in 2023 and the final grading in 2024. If the Contractor anticipates completing all grading in 2023 and if there is confusion, please review the pay item #'s and the section of the Standard Specs. (07/24/2023)

  • Is the temp type III tape intended to be used for MOT STAGE 1 and 2?
    The temp type III tape is to be used for MOT STAGE 1 and 2. (07/24/2023)

  • If temporary erosion control blanket is used and it is a problem when it is time to final grade and final seed how will handling the temp blanket be paid for
    The temporary erosion control blanket is to be placed after final grading and seeding. Temporary seeding is provided in the plans as an interim measure after initial earthwork is completed. (07/24/2023)

  • What type of finish do you want on the PCC Pvt ,Cruger Road and other pvts in the city do not have a Ty A finish but a Ty B
    Plan sheet #3, General Note 11 specifies Type B finish. No deviation will be allowed without the approval of the Engineer. (07/21/2023)

  • Will the contractor be able to proceed with construction if the crops are not harvested and will access to the project be limited to one area
    In the event, crops are not harvested by the time construction commences. The City of Washington will reimburse the farmer for any crop damage. It will not be the responsibility of the Contractor. Proper coordination will be required between the city and the Contractor. (07/20/2023)

  • There is a pay item for "Wide Area Video Det. Sys." However, the special provisions call out a 4 camera system.

  • Is there leniency on start date? Wondering if a March 2024 start is possible.
    No. The intent is for construction to begin in 2023. The majority of the earthwork and underground work can be completed in 2023. The staging is intended to allow construction in 2023 and 2024. (07/20/2023)

  • Does the temp striping get paid for is stage 1and 2 in MOT if so under what pay item.

  • I was under the impression the city was going to have the embankment dirt stock piled on site from another job for every ones use, is this not the case. I do not see anything in the specials provisions for the earth items, please answer as soon as possible getting a borrow site will take some time
    The City of Washington has provided a site near the Project that can be used on Nofsinger Road. Please contact the City Engineer for information on that location. (07/17/2023)

  • What type striping goes down in winter shutdown.
    The only reference to a winter shutdown is related to a district general note that refers to cold milling. According to the MOT plan, there is no winter shutdown, but there will be milling toward the end of the 2024 construction. The 2023 construction season is slated for earthwork and off-road construction. The remainder of the construction should be completed in 2024. (07/17/2023)
