  • Would Geocast or Shotcrete be an acceptable alternative liner in lieu of the Geopolymer?
    Only materials satisfying the special provision for spray applied pipe liners are acceptable. (10/23/2025)

  • Will the Illinois Department of Transportation consider allowing the use of a Profile Wall HDPE Pipe Liner meeting the requirements of ASTM F894 as an alternate to the specified Spray-Applied Pipe Liner (77”) for Item X5430477? Profile Wall HDPE Pipe is identified in IDOT Standard Specifications Section 1040.04(c) as an approved material for relining applications and has been successfully installed under state-maintained roadways in the past.
    The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. The Contractor may submit a Value Engineering proposal, if they are the low bidder, after the award of the contract. (10/23/2025)
