On sheet 2 of the plans, note 11 under the General Notes says, "HMA PAVING SHALL BE PERFORMED WITH HOT JOINTS". Does this mean echelon paving will be required? If not, can you please clarify this note?

Echelon paving will NOT be required. This note is meant to emphasize that the Contractor will do their best to pave as quickly as possible to avoid leaving joints unused for too long. E.g., leaving joints overnight or for too long between asphalt truck cycles as the joint will be weaker if left unused for some time. (10/14/2025)
