  • Will temporary type IV tape be allowed for the staged traffic control striping in lieu of the paint pavement markings?
Yes, it would be allowed. (10/30/2025)

  • a) For box culvert end sections 1 thru 4, are each of these ends sloped ends per MCB-TES? b) If so, what is the slope for each sloped end section for box culvert? c) I'm not finding a drawing for the special drop box for box culvert #4
    a) Yes, as per sheet 107. b) It is recommended that the end section slope match the respective embankment slope shown in the box culvert cross sections. c) The inlet box (special) detail is on page 104 of the plans. (10/30/2025)

  • Please confirm that the Steel Plate Beam Guardrail (Short Radius) will be built per Type A Guardrail. If not, please provide a detail as to what is intended.
Yes, SPBG (Short radius) will be built per Type A Guardrail. (10/30/2025)

  • Can extrude thermoplastic be a substitute for preform thermoplastic for this project? (both 100 mil) At least for the 4" long lines as this would produce a much straighter line than piecing together 19,766' at 3 foot pieces each of preform.
The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications published online. (10/30/2025)

  • How are the temporary pavement markings for the traffic control? The temporary paint pay items seem to only include the temporary markings for the permanent markings. Also, how will the removal of the temporary markings for the traffic control be paid? Will grinding be allowed for the traffic control temporary pavement markings?
Temporary Pavement Markings are included with the Traffic Control and Protection (Special) pay item. Temporary paint pay items are only if the permanent markings cannot be installed in the allotted time per spec book. These are not part of the staging. Removal of the Temporary Markings will be paid through Traffic Control and Protection, (Special). This special provision will be updated to clarify. Please watch for the upcoming addendum. Grinding will not be allowed for removal of the temporary paint pavement markings. Water blasting will be used for removal. See Traffic Control Notes withing the staging plan sheets. (10/27/2025)
