  • I understand that the medians are included, however, as in sweeping contracts, shouldn't those count as additional miles as you are required to come back and repass the area as a separate mile. I think this is something Contract department needs to look into and compare to similar sweeping contracts.
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (10/29/2025)

  • Are hazardous debris (chemicals, tires, or carcasses) part of the bid or is it to be documented and billed separately?
    Any materials and debris that could be considered hazardous should be documented and reported to the resident engineer and will not be considered part of the bid if both parties agree upon its hazardous nature. Any materials that could be considered dangerous to the public should be reported to the proper authorities for proper disposal or removal, by either the contractor or resident engineer. The contractor will not be held responsible for disposal or removal of any agreed upon hazardous materials and debris. (10/28/2025)

  • Must all operations within 15 ft of live traffic include a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA)?
    The intent of this contract is to keep all lanes open to traffic throughout the proposed Litter Picking work. The Traffic Control & Protection standard that applies to the work being done at each location should be used. (10/27/2025)

  • Which traffic control standards (701101, 701400, 701426, etc.) apply to each corridor?

  • What is the performance cycle of the contract? Is it Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, As needed, One and Done?
    The proposed work under this contract will be considered as a ‘One and Done’ performance cycle for all locations. (10/27/2025)

  • For litter picking involving the medians, it is not showing this as a separate pay item towards mileage. Will this be paid out as a separate mile as in sweeping contracts such it is required to do a separate pass?
    No, this work was specified per the Litter Picking special provision, “Areas along the roadways within the right of ways subject to removal of garbage and debris shall be within the grass medians between the edges of inside shoulder. (10/27/2025)

  • Will any repeat cleanup for unsatisfactory work be paid, or is it considered rework?
    No, work repeated due to previous unsatisfactory work will not be paid. (10/27/2025)
