  • How was the earth excavation number calculated? The plans do not seem to show enough existing grades for a 3D take-off and there are no cross sections? How are we to verify this number?
    New sidewalk designed to closely follow the existing surrounding grade. Existing sidewalk is below grade in many areas. Earth Excavation was computed as follows: 1. Areas with existing sidewalk to be replaced: L x 3' x 0.5'/27 2. Areas with no existing sidewalk: L x 7' x 0.5'/27 3. Pavement areas (HMA): no excavation A factor of +25% was applied to the computed volumes. (02/25/2025)

  • The Radar Speed Sign shows Tapco Evolution 12. The Evolution 12 is from Traffic Cast not Tapco. Can we use the TrafficCast sign?
    The Evolution 12 sign is not from TrafficCast. It is marketed as "SafePace Evolution 12" from Traffic Logix Corporation, which is available from Tapco and others. The complete system shall be in conformance with the plans and specifications. (02/05/2025)
