  • In the rural sections where there are aggregate shoulders with a bituminous surface treatment, Class A-2, what will be required when backfilling the patches?
    The project will follow the Spec Book 442.06 (h) and 442.10 (Shoulder removal and replacement resulting from edge forming will not be measured for payment). If the Contractor, during construction, proposes an equivalent or higher grade of compacted material for shoulder restoration at no additional cost, the alternate material and method will be considered for approval.
