Bulletin Description

(6.70-Mile) Design overlay consists of hot-mix asphalt surface removal, pavement patching, resurfacing with asphalt binder course and asphalt surface course, placement of thermoplastic pavement markings. Located on Illinois Rte. FAP 567, IL 38, from Dekalb County Line to IL 47 (Main Street) within the Village of Elburn in Kane County.

What will be done at commercial / private entrances at the locations where the proposed shoulder surface (2") is thicker than the proposed mill depth (1.25")? Station 211+21 to 361+50

The plans for this project call out that patching is to take place prior to milling. Will the RE pre-mark out all of the patches and then the patches will be paid for under Class D and HMA Removal / Replacement at their respective depths, or will the HMA Removal Over Patches be done then the RE will determine if full depth patches are required and pave back the patches HMA Replacement over Patch for safety purposes and then the contractor would return to perform full depth Class D Patches?

The RE will layout the patches first. Then use HMA removal over patches, then Class D patch, then HMA Replacement over patches. (05/23/2025)
What depth are sideroads to be milled at as well as what is the proposed pavement thickness for the sideroads? Sideroads in question are Schrader, Howard, Watson, Meredith, Francis, Landrose, Freeland & Saddlewood.

Side streets shall be milled to the thickness matching their respective stationing as shown in the typical sections. (05/15/2025)
