Sheet 55 has a note that states "If the contractor chooses to alter the temporary cantilevered sheet piling design requirements shown on the plans, a design submittal including plan details and calculations will be required for review and acceptance. Spec section 522 notes and an engineered submittal stamped by an SE is required. Please confirm an SE stamped submittal will not be required if the contract plans are followed using a sheet pile design of min section modulus 5.71

Please provide more details for the braced excavation at pier 4. This is only schematically shown on the TSL drawing on sheet 52. The following information is required: elevation of existing ground to calculate exposed height retained. Distance from center of track to face of exposed excavation. geotechnical information. We also need the live load diagram from the adjacent railroad to calculate the effective live load pressures against the proposed earth retention system.

Bridge 032-0086 pay item calls for 120pcs Type 1 Elastomeric Bearings, but only 60 locations, also the anchor bolt counts do not mach. What is required?

Please provide soil borings or a geotech report for the purpose of bidding the braced excavation and temporary sheet pile scopes of work. Soil borings will be required for the engineering submittals required for these items.
No geotechnical information was provided since this is a superstructure replacement project. Borings from the original construction plans will be placed in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION folder online with the Plans and Special Provisions for the contract. (09/09/2026)

There are items for testing and monitoring soil and handling contaminated spoils. There is no pay item for the disposal of any non special waste. Will an item be added for the disposal of any non special waste spoils? Is there an environmental report that can be provided for the purpose of bidding and determining dump locations.
No non-special waste is anticipated from the Preliminary Site Investigation Report. Any Environmental reports for the project will be in ICX (bidders only access - contact general contractor). Additional information is also available through the District’s Environmental Studies Unit (DESU). (09/04/2026)

Will an addendum be issued including Pay Items 66900200 & 66900530 to address the area between ST 33+80 to ST 35+10, 0-55' RT which has been classified as meeting the criteria of Article 669.05(a)(5)
The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (09/02/2026)

Is the new metallized structural steel to be left raw or will a coating system be applied per the Metallizing JSP?
Metallizing is being used on this project. There isn't a need for another coating to be applied on top of the metallizing. It isn't required that another coating be applied and there aren't any notes to apply one. (09/02/2026)
