Bulletin Description

Superstructure replacement of various structures on I-57 including SN 038-0003, SN 038-0004, SN 038-0005, SN 038-0006, SN 038-0009 and SN 038-0010. The project includes deck replacements of SN 038-0007 and SN 038-0008; structure repairs on SN 038-0001, SN 038-0002, SN 038-0031, which include bridge latex overlay; and repairs on SN 038-0086 and SN 038-0129. There are also two median crossovers and pavement marking replacement. Project is located along I-57 from 0.3 miles north of Prairie Creek to 0.7 miles south of N600E Rd in Iroquois County.

Can you please provide existing structure drawings on all structures? Structure 0009, 0010 will be needed specifically.

The existing structure plans will be placed in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION folder online with the Plans and Special Provisions for the contract. (09/09/2026)
Is core drilling the existing sub structure for placement of through-bolts acceptable for installing deck falsework? These would be patched after the falsework is stripped. Please advise.

The project should be bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. (09/09/2026)
Can you please provide as-built drawings for structure 038-0031. There are no steel drawings in the plans.

Can you please confirm that the SSPC - QP1 and QP2 certification applies to the painting and lead paint disposal only as asked previously?

Only the contractor performing the work will need to have the certifications per the special provisions. The note in the Transportation Bulletin will be removed. (09/03/2026)
