  • Sheet 15 of the plans shows a side mount bracket. Our supplier has found a bracket in aluminum, but not in bronze. Does IDOT have a supplier for the bronze or can it be aluminum? If IDOT has a supplier for the bronze bracket can you provide contact information for that supplier?
    The contractor should bid according to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Highway Standards, and the plans and specifications available online. IDOT does not have a particular supplier for the bronze bracket. See IDOT's site for the list of approved suppliers for materials. (07/22/2021)

  • Page six of the specifications state that the materials for the Ornamental Fence shall be steel and the pickets shall be a minimum of 12gauge and the post shall be a minimum of 14 gauge. The specs also call for their to be a warranty on the ornamental fence for 10 years. Our supplier is concerned that if the Ornamental Fence is steel and the posts are hollow, the powder coating will not get inside the posts but condensation will, causing the posts to corrode. Can the Orn. Fence be made of alum
